Osage Orange wood is sometimes referred to as Horse Apple or Hedge Apple. This wood is extremely durable and is considered to be one of the most decay resistant woods in North America. This unique tree is commonly used for fence posts and tool handles because of its strength.  This tree type is very thorny, for this reason, it isn’t always the first wood choice for commercial logging companies.  We couldn’t let this beautiful wood just be pushed to the side to be destroyed. 

The natural markings and color variations on this slab are enhanced by hand with coat of clear satin polyurethane to highlight the quality of this golden wood.   It has a rustic character that makes it a one-of-a-kind piece.
