How To Reclaim The Right Way

Reclaimed wood is a popular trend in household décor these days, and with good reason. The characteristics of this unique building material glows with a special weathered patina that can't be found on freshly cut wood. It can complement a space when the décor just needs a little something extra, or it can stand alone as a powerful punch of drama.

Through the use of natural textures, it complements many different decorative styles while making a space feel welcoming and inviting. It’s also a fantastic way to give a room a makeover without the jaw dropping costs associated with a home remodel.

Being both an editor and designer here at Bench and Crate, I’ve found it nearly impossible for to pick a single decorating style ...Then again, why should I? I adore sleek modern fixtures, but I love the warmth that worn woods provide in a space.

The reclaimed wood in these examples add enough warmth to make the space feel inviting.

If a reclaimed wall is out of the question, try using accent pieces or wall décor as a way to bring in warm, character-rich, wood tones.

This wood slat wall art is a great way to bring rustic style to a space without transforming an entire wall. It measures 26" x 26" square. I also suggest hanging two or three, side by side on a wall to give the same effect of a wall redo without the commitment.

Whether you decide to have a reclaimed accent wall, or use wall decor and accent furniture, you will love the charm that natural wood textures provide.
